School role plays, such as high school, college or magical based schools, always seems to have a big fanbase in the role play community. They don’t suddenly become unpopular like some other types of role plays. This post is for admins who are thinking of creating a school role play but want to base it on a different setting or focus on another facet of education. While these ideas might be based on every day life, you could always incorporate them in another genre such as science fiction or fantasy.

- Vocational School: “A vocational school (or trade school or career school), providing vocational education, is a school in which students are taught the skills needed to perform a particular job.”
- Training Ship: “A training ship is a ship used to train students as sailors. The term is especially used for ships employed by navies to train future officers. Essentially there are two types: those used for training at sea and old hulks used to house classrooms.”
- Veterinary School: “A veterinary school is a tertiary educational institution, or part of such an institution, which is involved in the education of veterinarians.”
- School of Infantry: “A School of Infantry provides training in weapons and infantry tactics to infantrymen of a nation’s military forces.”
- Nursing school: “A nursing school is a type of educational institution, or part thereof, providing education and training to become a fully qualified nurse.”
- Military academy: “A military academy or service academy (in American English) is an educational institution which prepares candidates for service in the officer corps of the army, the navy, air force or coast guard, which normally provides education in a service environment, the exact definition depending on the country concerned.”
- Film school: “A film school is any educational institution dedicated to teaching aspects of filmmaking, including such subjects as film production, film theory, digital media production, and screenwriting. Film history courses and hands-on technical training are usually incorporated into most film school curricula.”
- Art School: “Art school is a general term for any educational institution with a primary focus on the visual arts, especially illustration, painting, photography, sculpture, and graphic design.”
- Medical School: “A medical school is a tertiary educational institution—or part of such an institution—that teaches medicine, and awards a professional degree for physicians and surgeons.”
- Catholic School: ”Catholic schools are maintained parochial schools or education ministries of the Catholic Church.”
